With oil and gasoline prices only ever going one way, people are having to dig deeper and deeper into their pockets to keep their automobile cruising on the highway. Well, it seems there's already a solution on our doorstep which could revolutionize the gasoline industry.

The Pre-Ignition Catalytic Converter (PICC) is the work of a group based in Houston. They claim that the PICC will double the mileage you can do on a tank of gas.

What's more, the PICC is better for the environment than conventional gasoline systems, and will also reduce the United States' dependency on foreign oil, an issue that will become significantly more important over the coming years.

The PICC comes in kit form with full instructions, and requires a mechanic to replace the existing catalytic converter with the PICC. After that, you're ready to go. The Houston-based group also claim water can be used as part fuel, although this will require an additional tank.
