The Readius is a dazzling piece of technology that features a display that rolls out of the device itself. Once you’re done reading the document, you simply roll the display back into the device and pop it in your pocket. Philips isn’t producing the Readius commercially, but is using it to demonstrate just how effective rollable displays can be when used as part of a mobile device. The thin and flexible monochrome display (320 pixels x 240 pixels) has been specially designed for optimum viewing comfort, making it a breeze to view any kind of text, table or graph, even in direct sunlight. One of the amazing things about Readius is its size – once you’ve finished reading, the screen rolls back into the device, which is just 4”x 2.4”x 0.8”.
